Most of the Artists that we have featured here found themselves in love with their craft since they were very small. In fact, these desires and passions fueled them to pursue being an artist. However, our artist in focus is somewhat different.
Tim Tadder, an artist born in Baltimore, was actually more into the sciences when he was still in school as exhibited by his college degree.
Yes, ironically, he took up BS Mathematics. His passion for the arts only started to come out when he took his Master’s Degree in Communications in Virginia.
However, as fate would have it, Tim never used his Mathematics degree. Instead, he worked as a photojournalist for newspapers in Colorado, Baltimore, and San Diego.
Eventually, in 2005, he diverted his focus on commercial and editorial photography.
The works of this Tim Tadder really caught the attention of many celebrities and experts as he slowly got commissioned works to take the portraits of many of the most interesting and intriguing persons in the history of the world.
Among the celebrities and personalities that he had photographed include George W. Bush and Bill Gates.
These photos were not the usual shots that any ordinary artist or graphic artist would take. In fact, the Bill Gates shot was so unique as he was seen cringing at the sight of his iPhone and his MacBook Pro.
He was also able to work with individuals like Michael Phelps, Tom Brady, Kid Rock, and Ice Cube, as well as with brands like Adidas, Under Armour, McDonalds, Coca Cola, Pepsi, Mercedes Benz, Sony, Budweiser, Bud Light, Gillette, Gatorade, and Powerade to name a few.
Tadder uses location photography to capture rare moments in sports, action, people, and concepts.
One of the most popular art works of Tadder is his Water Wigs wherein several bald heads are being landed on by a water balloon. The result is a series of stunning shots of water splashes that formed shapes like the Mohawk, halo, top hat, and even the status wigs of George Washington.
When asked where he got his ‘bald heads’ from, he said he found them everywhere—from friends, Facebook, Craigslist, castings, and everywhere else.
Black and White
Right now, he lives with his family in Southern California and calls it his home. However, he is always in search for the perfect subject, campaign and fun people.
